The Middleboro/Lakeville Rotary Club proudly supported the 41st annual Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway - the largest Bike MS event in New England - by volunteering at a key rest stop in Middleboro. Eight dedicated Rotarians staffed the refreshment station at Byrnes Sand & Gravel on Saturday, June 28th, offering drinks, snacks, and encouragement to more than 100 riders.Photo, Left to right: Emma Bruce, Albert Mui, Jim Okolita - friend, Sue Okolita, Matt Bruce - President, Quack, Willy Duphily, Dylan - Police officer, Kevin Schmidt, Peter Regas
This year, over 800 cyclists participated in the two-day, 150-mile ride from Quincy to Provincetown, raising funds and awareness for the National MS Society. Saturday’s route covered a challenging 100-mile stretch, making the Rotary rest stop a welcome oasis for weary riders.
Club members described the experience as an “excellent volunteer day” and look forward to continuing their support for such meaningful causes in the future.
