The Rotary Club of Middleboro/Lakeville is delighted to congratulate our most recent Paul Harris Fellow, J. Kevin “Quack” Quackenbush!

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is one of the highest honors awarded by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. This honor is presented by The Rotary Foundation in appreciation of a substantial contribution—or in this case, a gift made in Quack’s honor—totaling $1,000 or more to support vital humanitarian and educational efforts worldwide. Named after Rotary’s founder, Paul Harris, this award stands as a meaningful symbol of a commitment to peace, community building, and "Service Above Self".

Since joining our club 8 years ago, Quack has served in many capacities, including Club President and Area 4 Assistant District Governor. He has worked tirelessly on many projects with the club, but his most enduring one is the Little Book Box (free library) project that he spearheaded during his Club presidency in 2020-2021.  The goal was to ‘plant’ Book Boxes around our community for use by both children & adults.  This effort brings free reading material to anyone in the community, encourages reading habits and provides children and families with easier access to books at home by removing traditional barriers like library hours, late fees, or lack of transportation.  Through this and his many activites in the Club and in our community, Quack has shown he lives the motto “Service Above Self.”

Congratulations, Quack, and thank you for your continued dedication, generosity, and the positive impact you make in our community. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved milestone with you!
