The members of the Rotary Club of Middleboro/Lakeville send well wishes and prayers aloft for our District Governor, Nicole Brien. Please see her personal note below.Dear Rotary District Family,
I want to begin with an apology for my silence and lack of communication during this special time of year.
As we celebrate our presidents who have truly United for Good throughout the past Rotary year, and as we embrace the energy, enthusiasm, and excitement of our incoming presidents who are preparing to Create Lasting Impact, I had hoped to be more fully present during this important transition.
Unfortunately, my health took an unexpected turn earlier this week after beginning a new medication. What started with a visit to urgent care on Tuesday escalated to a 911 call on Wednesday. Thankfully, I was discharged from the hospital today and am now focused on rest and recovery.
I share this not to draw attention to myself, but to acknowledge our shared humanity. This experience has been a powerful reminder of the importance of self-care, listening to our bodies, and seeking help when something doesn't feel right. I am especially grateful for the support of family members with medical experience who helped me navigate unfamiliar medical language and decisions during a very challenging few days.
My hope is that in the days ahead my strength will return, my energy will improve, and I can fully focus on the important transition that began on July 1.
In the meantime, if you have any urgent District matters, please contact Vice Governor PDG Angela Ponte or a member of our District Governor Track Team.
I humbly ask for your patience, understanding, and empathy as I recover and work to regain my strength.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and continued dedication to Rotary.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Nicole Brien
